WELCOME TO SANTA ROSA JUNIOR COLLEGE

With the 2021-22 school year beginning, I find myself optimistic about the future for SRJC and our many students. Throughout 2020 and 2021, our entire community has faced unprecedented challenges brought on by a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic. We have all had to adapt to new ways of learning, teaching, working and socializing. And while our fall semester will begin in a largely remote format, we are also expanding our hybrid and in-person offerings and are even resuming some athletics programs in a limited format, with added safety precautions.

As we look toward the future, we will continue to implement a gradual, phased reopening of our campuses, in line with the state and county guidelines. The safety of our students, employees and community members remains the top priority at SRJC and while we look forward to the day when we can come together again, we will not risk the health and wellness of our community to do so.

And while the pandemic has certainly been challenging for us all, I am proud of the efforts of our dedicated faculty, staff and administrators, who stepped up to support students in their time of need. We have continued to provide educational opportunities through remote learning and by providing student support services online. When we saw that some students needed computers to participate in courses from home, we worked in collaboration with the SRJC Foundation to create a laptop loaner program, which has since loaned hundreds of laptops directly to students. When we saw that the classes of 2020 and 2021 would not be able to celebrate their commencement in person, we created virtual graduation ceremonies to honor their achievements. While our campuses were largely shut down, we took that opportunity to do some major construction work on Measure H projects. When you return to campus, you’ll be welcomed by upgraded facilities and brand new construction.

No matter what our community may face, we at SRJC are here for our students and we have the resources available to help you continue to pursue your dreams of higher education. You can do this. We’re here to help.

I look forward to the day we will see one another on campus again. I wish you all the best and a year of great success!

Sincerely,
